Ulverston firm Bender UK has appointed two new apprentices.

The firm, which supplies electrical safety equipment including LED surgical lights, hygienic touch screen theatre control panels and medical IT systems, has employed Liam Hall and Ruby Kelly as marketing apprentices.

The company, based at the Low Mill Business Park, wants the apprentices help get the company’s products a wider audience.

Ruby recently completed her A-levels at Ulverston Sixth Form and Liam completed his A-levels at Barrow Sixth Form.

Liam, who worked part-time in retail, said his experiences interacting with customers will be invaluable for his new role.

He said he was looking forward to his new role and added: “I am excited to gain first-hand experience and knowledge from professionals and ultimately help the company to continue to be successful.”

Ruby, who has also worked in retail, said her A-levels had helped her be creative and her organisational skills will be a great asset as a marketing apprentice.

She added: “I am hardworking and able to prioritise tasks efficiently to meet deadlines to a high standard.”

Lisa Hudson, marketing manager at Bender UK, said: “We are working closely with Blackpool and The Fylde College to enhance Ruby and Liam’s knowledge, skills and experience needed to build a successful career in marketing.

“We look forward to observing their development and achievements in the future and we are delighted to have them on board.”
