PUBLIC PATH NOTICE THE LAKE DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY (FOOTPATHS AND BRIDLEWAYS IN GRIZEDALE FOREST, BROUGHTON MOOR, WHINLATTER FOREST AND WYTHOP WOODS) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2018

NOTICE IS GIVEN
that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake District National Park Authority has made an order dated 6 November 2018. The effect of the order will be to prohibit all traffic from proceeding over routes in Grizedale Forest, Broughton Moor, Whinlatter Forest and Wythop Woods, because of danger to the public from fast moving vehicles during motor sports events. The affected routes can be seen on the plans available from the Authority on 01539 724555, or on our website: www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/visiting/thingstodo/rowupdates/rowclosures. The order will take effect on 1 December 2018 and will continue in force for 6 months. It is anticipated that it will only be needed for two days within the six months period: for 24 hours (from midnight to midnight) on Saturday 8 December 2018 (Grizedale Forest and Broughton Moor), and Saturday 9 March 2019 (Grizedale Forest, Whinlatter Forest and Wythop Woods). All the routes will be accessible as normal other than on these days. At times when the event is taking place, signs will be erected indicating the routes that are closed. There are no suitable alternative routes. Authority Solicitor, 6 November 2018
