Notice of Confirmation of a Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order: Highways Act 1980 & Wildlife and Countryside Act 198.

North Yorkshire County Council Public Bridleway 05.5/13 Bentham Diversion Order 2022.


The above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and Section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 was confirmed on 10/01/23. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert the Bridleway as follows. Public Bridleway Bentham 05.5/13 proceeding between SD 6697 6996 and SD 6737 7005 on a track, will be diverted onto a parallel grass surface from SD 6697 6996 to SD 6709 6999 where it crosses Footpath 05.5/104, continuing to SD 6737 7005 to re-join the current route. The Order comes into force on the date on which the Authority certifies, in accordance with Section 119(3)(b) of the 1980 Act, that work to the new section of path, described in Part 2 of the Schedule, has been completed, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from Thursday 26 January 2023, make an application to the High Court. North Yorkshire County Council, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Sandy Beck To Track Hagg Farm, Stirton, Order 2023, No. 29.

We intend to make this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Sandy Beck To Track Hagg Farm, Stirton for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between 13/01/23 & 30/06/23, due to works. The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative route will be signed on site where appropriate.
