Various Roads in Copeland, Temporary Traffic Notice

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (VARIOUS ROADS, BOROUGH OF COPELAND) (CONSOLIDATION AND PROVISION OF TRAFFIC REGULATIONS) ORDER 2023
1. Cumbria County Council hereby give notice that on 17 January 2023 it made the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (4), 19, 32, 35, 35A, 38, 45, 46, 47, 49, 51, 53 and 64 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
2. The Order will come into operation on 3 February 2023 and its effect will be to: -
(a) Consolidate the provisions of The County of Cumbria (Various Roads, Borough of Copeland) (Consolidation and Provision of Traffic Regulations) Order 2020, and The County of Cumbria (A5086/U4017 Arlecdon Parks Road, Arlecdon) (Traffic Regulation) Order 2003; together with the restrictions and alterations detailed below, into one concise order: -
(b) The restrictions/alterations are as follows: -
a) Introduce "No Waiting At Any Time" restrictions on parts of: - Bowthorn Road, Birks Road and The Forge, Cleator Moor; Palmers Court, Cleator; Holborn Hill and U4141, Millom; Main Street, St Bees; Hollins Park and West Spur, Moor Row; Main Street, Frizington; Ramsey Drive and Foundry Road, Parton; Bridge End Industrial Estate, East Road and Scurgill Terrace, Egremont; Whitecroft, Gosforth; Bankfield Road, Haverigg; and High Lowca, Lowca;
b) Introduce "Disabled Parking Places, At All Times" on part of Main Street, and Braithwaite Court, Egremont;
c) Introduce "Disc Parking 8am-6pm, Mon - Sat, Waiting Limited to 1 hour, return prohibited within 1 hour (Residents Exempt)" on Albert Street, Millom:
d) Introduce an additional disabled parking space on Market Square, Millom;
e) Remove the "Limited Waiting 8am - 6 pm, Every day, waiting limited to 1 hour, return prohibited to 2 hours" restrictions on Main Street, St Bees;
f) Replace the "No Waiting At Any Time" restrictions on Arlecdon Parks Road, Arlecdon with "No Waiting, 8am-6pm, Monday - Saturday";
g) Replace the Disc Parking with "No Waiting At Any Time" restrictions and a new Disabled Parking Place on Market Street, Egremont;
h) Replace a section of Disc Parking with a Disabled Parking Place on Main Street, Egremont near Westcroft House Surgery;
i) Introduce "Disc Parking 8 am - 6 pm, Monday - Friday, Waiting Limited to 3 hours, return prohibited within 2 hours and "No Waiting At Any Time" on Gosforth Road, Seascale;
j) Introduce " Disc Parking 8 am - 6 pm, Monday - Friday, Waiting Limited to 2 hours, return prohibited within 2 hours "on the A595 layby south of Calderbridge;
k) Replace the "Limited Waiting, 1 hour, return prohibited within 1 hour" to "Disc Parking 8 am - 6 pm, Monday -
Saturday, Waiting Limited to 1 hour, return prohibited within 1 hour" on Main Street, Ravenglass;
l) Introduce a 13 tonnes weight restriction on Frith Hall Bridge, Ulpha
m) Introduce a 18 tonnes weight restriction on Boot Mill Bridge, Boot;
n) Introduce a 33 tonnes weight restriction on Wha House Bridge, Holmrook;and
o) Introduce a 10 tonne weight limit on The Green Bridge, Distington;

3. Full details of the Order, together with a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order, may be on deposit for public inspection at:-
(i) Cleator Moor Town Hall, Market Square, Cleator Moor CA25 5AP;
(ii) Millom Town Council, 6 Newton Street, Millom, LA18 4DR
(iii) At the offices of the undersigned; and
(iv) on the Council's website using the following link: -

4. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made there under has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks of 17 January 2023 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
