Cumbria, Various Temporary Road Closures due to utility works

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA
(C2042 BURGH BY SANDS & B5307 ABBEY ROAD, ABBEYTOWN) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable United Utilities to carry out utility works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. C2042, Burgh by Sands, from a point approx. 150m west of its junction with the U1120, extending in a westerly direction for a distance of approx. 210m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2042, B5307 (Fingland, Kirkbampton, Thurstonfield) and the A689. Duration: From 16 January 2023 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTRO/2530)

2. B5307, Abbey Road, Abbeytown, from its junction with C2012 Friars Garth, extending in an easterly direction for a distance of approx. 95m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5307 (Newton Arlosh, Kirkbride, Fingland, Kirkbampton, Thurstonfield), A689 Newby West, A595 Thursby, A596 Wigton and the B5302 Waverbridge.
Duration: From 23 January 2023, for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTRO/2708)

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to personnel and emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

(ii)Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

(iv)Apply to personnel and vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 16 January 2023 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
