Barrow in Furness, Multiple Traffic Notices, No Waiting at Any Time

The County Of Cumbria (Various Roads, Barrow-In-Furness) (Consolidation And Minor Amendment Of Traffic Regulations) (Order 2001) Variation Order (No.45) 2022

1. Cumbria County Council hereby give notice that on 6 December 2022 it made the above Order under Sections 1, 2, 19, 32, 35, 35A, 38, 45, 46, 47, 49, 51, 53, 64 and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The Order will come into operation on 2 January 2023 and its effect will be to: -

(a) Introduce "No Waiting At Any Time" restrictions on the following roads, in Barrow-in-Furness: -

Preston Street, Hollow Lane, Rakesmoor Lane, Keswick Avenue, Skelwith Drive, Whinlatter Drive, Dalton Lane, Ramsden Street, Redoak Avenue and Peartree Bank.

(b) Introduce "No Waiting At Any Time" restrictions on Ireleth Road, Askam-in Furness;

(c) Introduce "Loading/Unloading Only, Monday - Sunday, 6 am to 11am" on part of Fell Street and Crellin Street, Barrow-in-Furness;

(d) Reduce the extent of the existing "Prohibition of Driving (At Any Time) (Motor Vehicles) Except for Access" restriction on Preston Street, Barrow-in-Furness;

(e) Introduce "Prohibition of Waiting, Monday - Friday, 8 am -9 am and 2 pm - 4 pm" on parts of Redoak Avenue, Barrow-in-Furness;

(f) Introduce "Limited Waiting Parking Place, Monday - Sunday, 8 am - 6 pm, Waiting Limited to 20 minutes, return prohibited within 40 minutes" on parts of Preston Street, Fell Street and Crellin Street, Barrow-in-Furness;

(g) Introduce "Limited Waiting Parking Place, Monday - Sunday, 11am-6pm, Waiting Limited to 20 minutes, return prohibited within 40 minutes" on parts of Fell Street and Crellin Street, Barrow-in-Furness;

(h) Remove the "No Waiting At Any Time" restrictions on the following, to provide additional parking places: - Ireleth Road/ (Dudden View), Askam-in-Furness and Ramsden Street, Barrow-in-Furness; and

(i) Amend the existing restrictions to accommodate the above restrictions.

3. Full details of the Order, together with plans showing the lengths of road concerned, and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected at:

4. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made there under has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within six weeks of 6 December 2022 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
