Underbarrow Road, Temporary Road Closure due to Utility Works.

THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA
UNDERBARROW ROAD, KENDAL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable PN Daly Ltd. to carry out utility works "the Works", the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any from proceeding along that section of Underbarrow Road, Kendal from its junction with Boundary Bank Lane, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 275 metres.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route will be available as follows:
West Bound Vehicles: via the unrestricted sections of Underbarrow Road, Greenside, Beast Banks, Lowther Street, Blackhall Road, Sandes Avenue, Windermere Road, B5284 (Crook) and C5059 (Underbarrow): and
East Bound Vehicles: via the unrestricted sections of Underbarrow Road, Thorns Lane, Jinny Hill, Mountjoy Brow, Doll Holme Hill, B5284, Windermere Road, Sandes Avenue, Station Road, Stramongate, A65, Aynam Road, Nether Bridge, Kirkland, Highgate, Beast Banks and Greenside.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and
4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The reference to quote is TTRO/1892.
The Order will come into operation on 26 November 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required over 2 weekends i.e. on 26 and 27 November 2022 and 3 and 4 December 2022, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
