The County Of Cumbria (Lorne Crescent, Milbourne Crescent And
CI043 Charlotte Street, Carlisle) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

Notice is hereby given that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out highway works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:

1. Lome Crescent, Carlisle, from its junction with Junction Street/Charlotte Street, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 40m;

Alternative Route: via Junction Street, Dalston Road, Nelson Street, Blencowe Street, and the unrestricted section of Lome Crescent.
Duration: From 26 September 2022 for approx. 12 days (Ref: CA-22-94)
2. Milboume Crescent, Carlisle from its junction with Charlotte Street, extending in a north westerly direction for approx 70m; Alternative Routes:

Northwest Bound Vehicles - via Charlotte Street, Junction Street, Shaddongate, Bridge Street, Castle Way, Hardwicke Circus Roundabout (last exit) back onto Castle Way, Milboume Street and the unrestricted section of Milbourne Crescent. Southeast Bound Vehicles - via the unrestricted section of Milboume Crescent, Milbourne Street, Bridge Street, Shaddongate, Junction Street and Charlotte Street Duration: From 26 September 2022 for approx. 12 days (Ref: CA-22-95)

N.B To facilitate the alternative route detailed in 2 above, the bollards on Milbourne Street will be temporarily laid flat and the "No Entry" restrictions will not apply for the duration of the Works.
3. CI043 Charlotte Street, Carlisle from its junction with Denton Street, extending in a westerly direction for approx 145m;

Alternative Routes:
Eastbound Vehicles: via the unrestricted section of Charlotte Street, Junction Street, Shaddongate, Bridge Street, Castle Way, Hardwicke Circus, Georgian Way, Spencer Street, Warwick Road, The Crescent, English Street, Victoria Viaduct and Nelson Bridge.
Westbound Vehicles: via Nelson Bridge, Victoria Viaduct, Devonshire Street, Lowther Street, Victoria Place, Georgian Way, Hardwicke Circus, Casde Way, Bridge Street, Shaddongate, Junction Street and the unrestricted section of Charlotte Street

Duration: From 26 September for approx. 5 nights (Ref: CA-22-96)

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The references to quote are detailed above.

The Order will come into operation on 26 September 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as stated above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
