THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA
(C5063 MEALBANK ROAD, KENDAL AND U5642 MIDDLESHAW HEAD, OLD HUTTON)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Light Source to carry out gulley works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:-

1. C5063 Mealbank Road, Kendal: From its junction with Laverock Bridge extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 483m.
Alternative route: via Helm Lane, A6 Shap Road, Queen Katherines Avenue, A685 Appleby Road, C5065 and the unrestricted section of the C5063.
From 25 September 2022 for 1 day (Ref SL22EXT/9/15)

2. U5642 Middleshaw Head, Old Hutton: From its junction with the B6254 extending in an easterly direction to its junction with the U5641.
Alternative route: via the B6254, C5068, Ewbank Lane, Reservoir Road and the U5641.
From 26 September 2022 for 1 day (Ref SL22EXT/9/21)

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
4. Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works. Any queries to the Highways Hotline 0300 303 2992 or via the Cumbria County Council website. The reference to quote is as above.

The Order will come into operation on 25 September 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as above and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
