Parish Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2021

NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Secretary of State has extended the Order made by the Lake District National Park Authority. The effect of the order is to prohibit all public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over a section of bridleway through The Cross at Dale Park, Grizedale between SD 3512 9415 and the road at SD 3548 8405, to enable felling and extraction of timber. The Order was made on
5 January 2022 and has been extended until 13 October 2022, or until the works have been completed - whichever is the earlier.

The notice and plan showing the route concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority Offices, Wayfaring House Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL; at South Lakeland District Council, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, LA9 4DQ and at Hawkshead TIC, Main Street, Hawkshead, Cumbria LA22 0NS; and online at

The order will be in effect as and when the signs are displayed. When works are taking place, signs will be erected showing the closed path and the alternative route. The path will be accessible as normal other than on these days. If the works have not been completed it may be extended for a further period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
