The County Of Cumbria (Various Roads In The South Lakeland Area) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) (No.7) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out various highway works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule. Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. Phased works will not necessarily be done in numerical order.
Cumbria Highways will ensure that local residents and the general public are informed of which roads are to be closed and when, nearer the time. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road; and

4. Apply to vehicles licensed as agricultural machines wishing to access/egress to /from Elm Tree Farm, during the restriction detailed at No.6 of the schedule, providing it is deemed safe to do so by the contractors on site.

The Order will come into operation on 25 July 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required over a 1 month period as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Schedule Extent Of Restrictions And Alternative Routes

1. U5139 Bardsea - From 25 July 2022 for approx. 7 days (Ref: SL22CCC/8/8)

From its junction with the C5038 Main Street (Braddylls Arms public house), extending in an easterly direction to a point adjacent to Woodside Cottage at Bardsea Green and in a southerly direction to a point adjacent to Wellhouse Farm. There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles
2. C5013 Bank End, Grizebeck - From 1 August 2022 for approx. 5 days (Ref:SL22CCC/8/5)

From its southern junction with the A595, extending for approx. 530m to its northern junction with the A595. Alternative Route: via the A595,
3. U5413 Newbiggin Lane, Newbiggin - From 1 August 2022 for approx. 5 days (Ref:SL22CCC/8/7)

From its junction with the U5412, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 80 metres.
Alternative Routes: via the unrestricted section of the U5413, C5091, A65, U5414 and the U5412 OR via the U5412, C5087, U5411 and the U5412.
4. U5836 Manorside, Flookburgh - From 23 August 2022 for approx. 4 days (Ref:SL22CCC/8/7)

From a point approx. 45 metres south of its junction with the B5277 Market Street, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 73 metres.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles
5. C5060, Near Witherslack - From 29 August 2022 for approx. 4 days (Ref:SL22CCC/8/10)

From a point approx. 835 metres north of its junction with High Yeat Lodge, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 30 metres
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C5060,
C5046, C5029 and C5047
6. U5370 Elm Tree Farm, Crooklands - From 24 August 2022 for approx. 3 days (Ref:SL22CCC/8/11)

An approx. 185 metre section of the U5370 which runs from the entrance to Elm Tree Farm in a westerly direction. There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
7. A593, Near Torver - From 22 August 2022 for approx. 5 days (Ref:SL22CCC/8/12)

From a point approx. 400 metres west of its junction with the U5041, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 150 metres Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A593,
A5084 (Lowick), A5092 (Gawthwaite, Grizebeck), A595, A593
Broughton in Furness.
