Copeland Borough Council Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 Proposed Amendment To Fare Scales

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in exercise of powers contained in Part II of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 the Council propose to amend the Hackney Carriage Fare Scales
as follows:
PROPOSED FARE SCALE - Maximum Fares (inclusive of VAT)  £
Tariff 1 (6am - 11pm)
For a distance not exceeding 1 mile  £4
For a distance exceeding 1 mile - 1 st mile  £4
Next 1/10th of a mile or uncompleted part  22p

Tariff 2 (11pm - 6am and hirings commenced at any time on a Bank/Public Holidays
(Bank or Public Holiday being Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, May Day, Whitsuntide Monday, August Bank Holiday Monday & any other Bank or Public Holiday the Government may declare)
Add 50% of Tariff 1 rate

Tariff 3 (For hirings commenced between 6.00pm on Christmas Eve until 6.00am on 27th December and 6.00 pm on New Years Eve until 06.00am on 2nd January)
1st Mile  £6.60
Each 1/10th mile or uncompleted part thereof  35p

Other Charges
Waiting Time - For each period of one minute or uncompleted part thereof  22p
Collecting - For each mile or uncompleted part thereof within the Borough of Copeland, travelled by the carriage to a hirer's pick-up point at a stated place other than a hackney carriage stand or the proprietor's normal base of operation  45p
For each person in excess of four  25% of the total fare
Clearing and Cleaning Costs - soiling fee  £100 (max)

The above rates of fare are applicable only to:
1. Journeys taken entirely within the district of Copeland.

2. Journeys ending outside the district of Copeland where no fare or rate of fare is agreed in advance of such journey between hirer and driver._
