Angerton, Tempoarary Prohibition of Vehicles

The County Of Cumbria (U2009 Biglan Ds An D B5307 Angerton) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2022

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out highway improvement and drainage works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:
1. U2009, Biglands, from a point approx. 2.1 km west of its junction with the C2051, extending in an overall northerly direction for approx. 112 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U2009,
the U2010, U2013 Aikton and the C2051.
Duration: From 3 June 2022 for approx. 8 days (Ref:
AL22-164)
2. B5307, Angerton from a point approx. approx. 2.2 km north east of its junction with the U2006, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 500 metres.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5307, the A589 Newby West, A595, A596 Wigton and the B5302 Waverbridge.
Duration: From 14 June 2022 for approx. 3 days (Ref: AL22-165)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
(i) Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

(iii)Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and
(iv)Apply to vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 3 June 2022 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
