FOOTPATH 543035/571004, RIVER BRATHAY, BETWEEN STANG END AND WILSON
PLACE, PARISHES OF LAKES (LANGDALES) AND SKELWITH
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2022
NOTICE IS GIVEN that under Section 14(1) of the RoadTraffic Regulation Act 1984, the Lake District National Park Authority has made an order dated 5 January 2022. The effect of the order is to prohibit all public traffic for all purposes from proceeding over Footpath 543035/571004 at the River Brathay, between Stang End and Wilson Place, Lakes (Langdales) and Skelwith Parish, bridge across River Brathay at NY 3181 0312, because of danger to the public from a failing bridge structure. The notice and plan showing the route concerned may be inspected during normal office or opening hours at the National Park Authority Offices, Wayfaring House Muriey Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal, LA9 7RL; at South Lakeland District Coundl, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street Kendal, LA9 4D0j and at Ambleside Tourist Information Centre, Central Buildings, Market Cross, Ambleside, Cumbria, LA22 9BS; and online at

The order will take effect on 11 January 2022 and will continue in force for six months but we anticipate replacing the bridge as soon as possible?when the path will re-open. If the works have not been completed It may be extended for a further period with the approval of the Secretary of State. Authority Solicitor, 5 January 2022
