Notice of Proposal The Council of the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2022
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness in exercise of its powers under Sections 32(1), 33(1,2,3) and (7), 34, 35, 35A, and 35C and 39 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the 1984 Act") and Part III of Schedule 9 of the said Act of 1984 and in exercise of its powers under Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 ("the 2004 Act") and all other enabling powers, with the consent of Cumbria County Council in accordance with Section 39(3) of the 1984 Act and after consulting with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act propose to make the following Order:-The effect of the order will be to: -
1. Revise and replace the existing Council of the Borough of Barrow in Furness (Off Street Parking Places) Order 2018

2. Introduce a new contravention code. Code Number 71 - Parked in an electric vehicles' charging place during restricted hours without charging.

3. Introduce new parking places to be regulated under the Order;

* Biggar Bank Parking Areas (free parking)
* Lime Street Car Park, Dalton (free parking

* Nelson Street Car Park, Dalton (free parking)

* West Shore Car Park (free parking)

4. Remove the following parking places;

? Portland Walk Level A

5. Include a 40p for 20 minutes tariff and £1.30 for 1 hour tariff on the following car parks:

* Portland Walk Levels B & C

6. To introduce permitted overnight parking by prior arrangement on the following car parks;

* Biggar Bank Parking areas

* West Shore Car Park

The new Order will take effect from the 1" April, 2022 The Statement of Reasons and the Order together with plans showing all affected parking places may be inspected during normal office hours at the Town Hall, Duke Street, Barrow in Furness.
