THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (BOWTHORN ROAD, CLEATOR MOOR) (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable works to be carried out on a nearby development and maintain dear visibility splays ("the Works), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding at speeds in excess of 30 miles per hour along that section of Bowthorn Road, Cleator Moor from a point approx 70m north east of its junction with Threaplands extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 200m. No speed limit imposed by this Order will apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

The Order will come into operation on 8 June 2020 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 18 months and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
