THE COUNTY OF CUMBRIA (A6 LEVENS LANE, LEVENS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Cumbria Highways to carry out carriageway resurfacing works ("the Works"), the County Council of Cumbria intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the A6 Levens Lane, Levens from a point approx 180m south east of its junction with the C5059 extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 290m. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available as follows:-
North west bound: via the unrestricted section of the A6 Levens Lane, A590 Brettargh Holt roundabout, Lindale Hill and Crooklands Interchange, A65, B6385, B6384 and A6 Church Street and Princes Way.
South east bound: via the unrestricted section of the A6 Levens Lane, A590 Brettargh Holt roundabout and slip lanes. N.B. An alternative route for HGVs exceeding 6'6" in width will be available as follows:
Via the unrestricted section of the A6 Levens Lane, A590 Brettargh Holt roundabout, Lindale Hill and Crooklands Interchange, A6070, A6 Arnside, Beetham Road, Church Street and Princes Way.
Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:
1. Apply to emergency service vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and
2. Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and
3. Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the road(s), or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the road(s); and

The Order will come into operation on I November 2019 and may continue in force for a period of up to eighteen months from that date as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, although it is anticipated that it will only be required for 2 weeks between the hours of 1830 and 0600.
