THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLISLE (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION AND MINOR AMENDMENT VARIATION PAY BY TELEPHONE) ORDER 2012 (VARIATION No. 4: SANDS CENTRE REDEVELOPMENT) ORDER 2019 NOTICE OF MAKING NOTICE is hereby given that on 26th September 2019 the Council of the City of Carlisle (also known as the City Council of Carlisle) in exercise of the powers under Part 6 and Sections 32 and 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act and under Schedules 8 and 9 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 ("the Acts') and of all other enabling powers and in accordance with the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) Regulations 1996 as amended and with the consent of the Council of the County of Cumbria and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police has made the above Order ("the Order"). The Order will come into force on 1st October 2019. The general effect of the Order shall be to:

1. Amend the extent of the Sands Pay and Display Car Park by reducing the number of spaces available to 120 as shown by a revised plan with red edging.



2. Amend the days and times of information relating to Swifts Bank Car Park to expand the permitted category of car park users and clarify the hours of public use.



3. Amend the Tariff Bands at Swifts Bank Car Park to enable the general public to park at Swifts Bank Car park every day subject to applicable tariff and use provisions



A copy of the Order Revised Plan and a Statement of Reasons may be inspected during normal office hours at Carlisle City Council Customer Contact Centre, Civic Centre, Carlisle, CA3 8QG Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Acts or any requirement of the Acts, or that any instrument made under the Acts has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
