Wembley fixture for Windermere attraction

A TOP tourist attraction is seeking to expand its international reputation.

Windermere Lake Cruises will be driving forward its international business at Great Britain’s biggest inbound tourism event of the year at Wembley Stadium from March 18 to 19.

The company – ranked one of the top 10 most popular attractions in the country by England’s national tourist board, with 1.3 million passenger journeys annually – will be showcasing the wonders of Windermere as part of the March Marketplace 2013.

Nigel Wilkinson, managing director of Windermere Lake Cruises, said: “This is much more than just an event for an event’s sake. We can’t underestimate the value of the overseas travel market for generating visitors and helping grow not just our business, but supporting the future prosperity of the Lakes and Cumbria as a whole.”
