Plan for new housing estate in west Cumbria

Seventy-five new homes could be built in High Harrington.

Story Homes wants to build a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes on three hectares of land west of Main Road, between Whins Farm and Springfield Avenue.

It is seeking outline planning permission from Allerdale council. The firm has agreed to buy the site, currently used for grazing.

Plans show seven areas of residential development, along with open spaces and a playground.

Have your say

I'm all for it, the more social housing on this site the better, and I only live just over the road from it

James O - the land isnt owned by the council so they wont get any money. Councils do not build houses anymore...they sold the houses to derwent and Solway
