Pensioner taken to hospital after west Cumbria road crash

An elderly woman was taken to hospital following a two-car crash in Whitehaven.
The smash, involving a Hyundai driven by the 77-year-old and a Honda driven by a 29-year-old woman, happened in Mirehouse Road at 3.10pm.
Various emergency services were called out and the road was partially blocked. Full details had not emerged this afternoon.
