West Cumbria's Trout Hotel has been rated as being in the top three per cent of hotels in the world for customer satisfaction, according to an online rating company.

Australian based hotel meta-search company, HotelsCombined has awarded the Cockermouth hotel an official ‘recognition of excellence’ due to its high satisfaction rating among both guests and industry experts.

HotelsCombined have gathered data from millions of guest reviews around the world and found the Trout Hotel to be consistently achieving high standards of customer service, with showing the hotel had scored one of the highest satisfaction ratings possible, 9.0, in almost 500 reviews.

Sue Eccles, managing director, said: “It is an amazing achievement to be mentioned in the top three per cent of hotels in the world and it feels fantastic to have had so many positive reviews from happy guests.
