A Cumbrian hotel and restaurant has been named one of the 100 top places to eat in the UK.
Kevin Tickle, head chef at the Forest Side in Grasmere, travelled with owner Andrew Wildsmith, to a glittering awards night hosted by the Restaurant Magazine in London's Hurlingham Club last night.
Forest Side was listed at number 97 in the influential magazine's annual National Restaurant Awards
Each year the National Restaurant Awards celebrate the UK’s eating out scene, from Michelin-starred dining rooms with tasting menus to casual neighbourhood bistros and steakhouses
The 100 best restaurants were voted for during the awards ceremony by 150 industry experts from across the UK, including chefs, restaurateurs, critics and food writers.
Kevin said: ‘’We are really pleased to have been listed alongside some seriously top restaurants. Being listed at No.97 is huge for us and massively recognises the efforts of everyone in the team.
"We are a dedicated bunch, who have a real love for the Lakes and all that it has to offer. Food is our main passion and combine that with some of the best produce available anywhere and you can’t go far wrong.’’
