A Kirkby Lonsdale hotel has scooped two awards for both the hotel and the restaurant sides of the business.

Hipping Hall, near Kirkby Lonsdale picked up two UK regional awards, bagging ‘best luxury hotel and restaurant 2016’ and ‘best country house hideaway 2016’.

The annual Hotel & Spa Awards and Food & Drink Awards judge the merits of hotels and restaurants across the world and award trophies for atmosphere, quality of food and customer service

Andrew Wildsmith, owner of Hipping Hall, said: ‘’The team at Hipping are on a bit of a roll, having claimed the top slot in Lancashire Life Food & Drink awards as the region’s Hotel Restaurant of the year and Marketing Lancashire’s Boutique Accommodation award in 2016.

“We are only a small property, but there’s no doubt we punch well above our weight.

“Everything we have achieved is a real team effort from housekeeping, front of house, kitchen, restaurant and reception and I’d like to thank the entire team for their continued hard work and dedication.’’

The Hotel and Spa Awards are sponsored by the lifestyle magazine LUX, which attracts an international audience.

Discussing the awards, Lux Awards coordinator, Katherine Benton, said: “Food and drink is a key part of the hospitality industry, and the dedicated firms and the individuals that drive them whose role it is to prepare and serve our meals work diligently to ensure that every detail is just right.
