A LAKE District guest house has been sold for almost £1m.
Fir Trees in Windermere has changed hands for £925,000 in a deal handled by property firm Colliers International.
Former owners Bob and Bea Towers are retiring from the hospitality industry and the double-fronted property in Lake Road will now be operated by Tim and Victoria Brooker.
Fir Trees has nine en-suite letting bedrooms with separate three-bedroom owners’ accommodation, private garden and parking.
The sale was achieved by Haydn Spedding, associate director, hotels and licensed property at the Manchester office of Colliers .
He said: “With 2016 having proved to be a particularly strong trading season for serviced accommodation in the Lake District National Park, the sale of Fir Trees continues that trend at the start of 2017 in a market showing ongoing and significant improvement in the run-up to this year’s visitor season.”
