SMALL businesses can find more opportunities to work at Sellafield because of changes to a digital portal.

A ‘publishing’ module has been added to the site's complete tender management (CTM) system, which advertises contracts in the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s (NDA) estate, designed to make sub-contracting opportunities much easier to view.

Almost 30 large categories have agreed to join the initiative, which will see them advertise sub-contracts in CTM which will be added to the Government Contracts Finder portal aimed at smaller suppliers.

More than 60 per cent of the NDA’s annual £1.7bn supply chain spend is with 30 to 40 large businesses or groups, who then sub-contract.

Sam Dancy, the NDA’s supply chain manager, said: “Our initial aim is to encourage publication of opportunities worth up to £250m a year and we expect more businesses to join as the scheme gets under way.”

Businesses interested in viewing opportunities need to register on CTM via www.sellafieldsites.com.
