Bender UK has appointed Sam Parry as the company’s new clinical sales consultant to

support health trusts, hospitals and private medical facilities in the north of England and

Wales, and in Scotland.

The Ulverston-based company supplies equipment such as LED surgical lights, hygienic touch screen theatre control panels and medical IT systems.

Sam, aged 27, has worked for five years in the UK healthcare sector and has joined Bender having seen the growth of its business in operating theatre equipment and continuing leadership in the provision of power solutions for group 2 medical locations.

A Cumbrian PR agency is celebrating its first award win just in time to coincide with its first 12 months in business.

Bloomin’ Creative, based in Kirkby Lonsdale, scooped ‘Best Boutique PR Agency – Cumbria’ in the North West Enterprise Awards 2017, hosted by SME News. The win coincides with the firm marking its one year anniversary since it was officially launched last summer.

The owners of family-run holiday lettings agency Heart of the Lakes have welcomed the third generation to the team.

Dominic Jackson will work alongside dad Chris and grandparents Sue and Peter at the firm, which has branches in Keswick and Ambleside. Established in 1975, Heart of the Lakes has more than 300 holiday cottages throughout the Lake District and employs 27 people.

Tullie House Museum has appointed Gill Forster Spratt to a new events and hospitality manager position.

Gill will be working to increase the number of corporate events and weddings at the museum, maximising the use of its four function rooms that include a theatre that can also be used as a cinema or conference venue.

Previously Gill worked at the Carlisle City Council as events manager for 16 years, rubbing shoulders with the stars such as Britain’s Got Talent singer Wayne Woodward and Stavros who still texts her on a regular basis.

Anne Mason is the new Penrith branch manager for Skipton Building Society.

Anne joins the Cornmarket branch following her move back to the UK from Australia with a career in banking, finance, compliance and service industries which took her all around the sub continent.

Commenting on her new role, Anne said: “I am very lucky to have such a dedicated and energetic team, who are passionate about our customers and enthused by the potential to continue to develop great customer relations moving forward into the future.”

Capita has appointed Jonathan Lewis as its new chief executive as the outsourcing giant looks to move on from a string of profit warnings and a difficult year.

Mr Lewis was previously in charge of Sellafield and BAE Systems partner Amec Foster Wheeler (now Wood Group) , before its takeover by Wood Group this week, and begins at Capita, which has an office in Kingstown, Carlisle, on December 1.
