TWO guest houses in the Lake District have been sold in deal worth more than £1.2m.
Both of the businesses which were sold are in Keswick, with the deals completed by the Manchester office of property firm Colliers International.
Appletrees guest house in The Heads, Keswick, was sold from an asking price of £699,500 to Jason and Catherine Fairfield who are relocating from Burnley. The previous owners were retiring couple John and Sue Armstrong.
Pat and Linda Dent, who are retiring to Spain, sold Rivendell guest house, Helvellyn Street to Lee and Deborah Southern, who are moving to Keswick from Sunderland, from an asking price of £495,000.
Haydn Spedding, the Colliers director who secured both sales, said: “Following the Brexit vote in June 2016, the market was very slow to re-engage but 2017 is proving to be exactly the opposite with a particularly busy and resurgent spring market and more than 12 sales of hotel and hospitality sites in the pipeline.”
