Family-owned SN Group has moved to new centralised premises in the industrial heart of Barrow.

The high profile local business has consolidated two companies, Scurrah Nassau Engineering, previously of Millom, and St Andrew’s Engineering, to a single site at Peter Green Way.

Employing more than 60 people, the company is run by Tony Keen who believes the move will allow for future growth in the region.

Mr Keen, owner and managing director of SN Group, said: “SN Group is experiencing a strong period of growth and we are keen to build on this and ensure we are positioned to face the future in the best way.

“We took the decision to consolidate the two business premises into one new HQ for a number of reasons.

“It will give us more opportunity to grow as we take on new customers and staff, and make us more operationally efficient as a business.”

Mr Keen was advised on the move by Kate Mallaband, partner and head of the Cumbrian Commercial Property team at Napthens solicitors in Penrith and Kendal.

Ms Mallaband advised on issues including securing the lease of the property, formerly occupied by well-known electronics manufacturer Oxley.

She said: “This is a great move for the group, bringing its businesses together under one roof in a way which will still allow for future growth."
