Harrison Drury , which has an office in Kendal, has given directorships to two members of staff.

Laura Dover has been promoted to the role of operations director and is now a member of the firm’s board and is responsible for overseeing the HR, IT, marketing, estates and facilities teams.

Nick Booth will take on the role of director in the commercial team.

Solicitors, Helen Griffin, and Jennifer Larton have also been promoted to become associates at the firm, while David Edwards has been promoted to senior associate.

Specialist corporate and commercial law firm, Baines Wilson has appointed Imogen Duck to its expanding dispute resolution and litigation team.

She qualified as a solicitor in 2015, previously working for a local Lancaster firm and will deal with all aspects of commercial litigation.

Head of litigation, Elizabeth Black, said: “I am delighted to have Imogen, who is a very capable and personable solicitor, join the team.

“As the firm continues to grow and expand it is crucial that we appoint talented solicitors like Imogen.”

Longtown-based civil engineers R H Irving Construction has promoted Ian Johnstone to the position of construction director.

Mr Johnstone joined the company in 2015 as construction manager, having previously accrued 16 years’ of international construction experience and will be responsible for the leadership of all site construction operations, as well as research and evaluation of new construction opportunities.

Managing director, Hylton Irving, said: “In the short time he has been with us, Ian has proved himself a hugely capable operator and helped to drive the company forward during a period of expansion.

“This promotion is thoroughly deserved and we congratulate him on his success.”
