The Lakes Distillery is set to sell its gin in the north of England's busiest airport.

Its product The Lakes Gin will be on the shelves of T1 in Manchester Airport.

This news comes after the distillery - which is in Setmurthy, near Bassenthwaite - announced its products will go on sale at airport duty free shops in both Australia and New Zealand, in Newcastle Airport and on board Brittany Ferries.

Nigel Mills, chairman of The Lakes Distillery said: “Our expansion and brand awareness is continuing to grow at such a strong pace with not only The Lakes Gin but our whole family of spirits.

“We are excited to be taking to the stage in World Duty Free.

“It is perfect timing to join forces with Manchester Airport, working closely together to drive the airport as the Gateway to Cumbria and The Lakes Distillery.”

Stephen Ma, liquor, tobacco and food trading manager said: “I am very excited in seeing another addition to our premium gin range.

“With the Lake District being a major tourist attraction and Manchester Terminal 1 having the exclusivity in selling a multi-award-winning product, The Lakes Gin and will be a great parting gift for the customer’s onward journey.”

Both will promote destinations from Manchester.
