The Lakes Distillery has announced its latest corporate partnership, which will see its whisky appear at a leading Scottish golf resort.
Fairmont St Andrews - a five-star venue in the Fife town which opened in June 2001 with a course designed by golfer Gene Sarazen and former European Ryder Cup Captain Sam Torrance - has taken delivery of 7,000 miniature bottles of the distillery’s British Isle Blended Whisky,
The five cl bottles have been dual labelled and personalised to welcome golfers to the golf course and carry the message “Enjoy your round at St Andrews”.
They will be offered to golfers after they arrive at the resort. Hogshead sherry casks are also being used at the golf facility and driving range with maps imprinted to show golfers where The Lakes Distillery is based and how to visit.
Nigel Mills, chairman of The Lakes Distillery said “As an avid lover of golf, The Lakes Distillery is proud to partner with a world class resort celebrating heritage and innovation. The Fairmont St Andrews, just like The Lakes Distillery, is steeped with a great history and the highest of industry accolades.”
“The welcome golfers get is so important to us," added Amy Yeates, director of golf at Fairmont St Andrews.
The distillery is in Setmurthy, near Bassenthwaite.
