The 2017 Family Business Survey has drawn to a close and we’ve been astounded by the response received to this year’s study. Over 700 businesses from across the UK participated, sharing and airing their views on the prominent issues affecting family firms as we head into 2018.

With such a phenomenal response, we’re currently analysing all the key facts and figures to evolve from the research, enabling us to provide vital insight into the most important topics and concerns worrying, hindering and also providing hope and aspiration for businesses across the region.
Our specialist team of business and financial analysts will provide their commentary, thoughts, suggestions and advice on the emerging facts, digging deep into the issues that really matter to businesses in Cumbria, with full survey results published soon.

Alongside the key headline findings for Cumbria, we’ll drill down into the concerns affecting specific sectors, affording businesses with the knowledge and advice they need to move forwards, helping business owners to achieve prosperity, a secure future and peace of mind.

This year also sees the launch of our new business owner forums, offering Cumbrian business owners the opportunity to hear thought-provoking insight from key speakers and discuss the hot topics concerning the Cumbrian economy.
The new series of three breakfast events, spread across the year, will focus on the continuing struggle to recruit and retain talent, the pressure felt to change and innovate, and the problems and planning required when looking at succession and exit strategies – all outlined as areas of concern by our Cumbrian survey respondents.
