‘I’d never been in this situation before so I quite enjoyed it,” says David.

“I think as time goes along you begin to accept the professionalism that’s being applied.

“It’s been a pleasure meeting Helen. She’s really well suited to the job.”

Helen says: “At around about this time, during the project, I was introduced to a different way of painting, where you put much more paint down in one sitting.

“I think you can see this in David’s portrait. I did three painting sketches for practice and then tackled the final outcome using everything I had learned - it makes the painting look more vibrant and fresh. I remember David giving me some amazing advice for the business side of painting. I can’t tell you though!”
