Danyelle Haines scooped the Young Talent award last night at a glittering ceremony in Liverpool.

Miss Haines, 19, who lives in Barrow, was delighted with the win but graciously said it belonged to the whole team at Ulverston.

"I was nominated by my manager Terry Sandham for my involvement in a steriles project worth £57m," she said.

"I don't see it as me winning the award, it's for everyone based at GSK in Ulverston."

Danyelle started her manufacturing apprenticeship at GSK in 2015 after completing a medical science qualification.

GSK Ulverston, a partner of Choose Cumbria, congratulated Danyelle after she was announced as the winner.

The Chemicals Northwest Awards are the premier accolades for the UK chemical industry. They are designed to offer a unique opportunity to highlight and promote excellent performance at the company, site or individual level.
