Roadworks to close stretch of A595 in Cockermouth
A SECTION of the A595 was closed last night for urgent repair works.
The road was closed between the junction with the A66 in Cockermouth and the junction with the A594 in Papcastle.
It was closed for two hours between 10pm and midnight, to enable United Utilities to carry out emergency repair works.
Motorists were forced to travel south on the A66 to the Lamplugh Roundabout, through Cockermouth, and then onto the A5086, which would lead them back to the A595.
