Carlisle-based telecoms provider Online Systems has taken on 12 new staff after landing a number of high-profile contracts.

The announcements follow last year’s buyout of the company by managing director Greg Morton and his decision to form a new management team.

This includes Graeme Hind as head of operations, technical manager Robert Fulton, Jane Fretwell as finance director, and Neil Gallagher as head of sales.

There have been promotions for Fiona Harland, who now heads provisioning, and Beccy Jobling as head of service.

Online Systems has also hired new staff members across finance, provisioning and sales.

Mr Morton said: “I’m excited about the new ideas and energy being brought to Online Systems by our new staff to complement our already experienced team.

"We will endeavour to continue to improve the level of service that has kept many of our customers with us for over 20 years.”

Online Systems recently set up an online hosted phone system for solicitors Burnetts, following the law firm’s move to new offices in Rosehill.

And they have also renewed a contract with Parkdean Resorts, the UK’s largest holiday park company, to install and manage 30 new 1GB internet connections across its sites.

Mr Morton, originally from Australia, began working for Online Systems in 1998 as a trainee salesman.

The company now employs 45 people across its Carlisle and Newcastle offices and has ambitious growth plans for the coming years as a provider of phone, mobile and internet connections, serving an array of businesses from sole traders to large organisations with thousands of phone and data connections.
