Detail Retail is already established in Ambleside and Windermere and has now moved into north Cumbria by opening in Devonshire Street, Penrith.

The store has created three new jobs, taking the total number employed by the Cumbrian chain to 10.

Detail Retail offers an extensive range of contemporary and classic gifts and its owner hopes to compliment the range of independent traders in the town.

Heidi Schramli, who opened her first store in Ambleside in 2009, said: “We are thrilled to have opened our third store and delighted to be bringing the Detail Retail concept to the north of the county. It’s been a lot of hard work to get ready for the opening but worth every effort as the new shop looks fantastic.”

Its product ranges boast a number of national and local brands. They include Orla Kiely and Joseph Joseph ranges to locally-produced products by Herdy and the Sedbergh Soap Company.

Mrs Schramli, who lives in Windermere, studied at Hatfield and Hereford Art Colleges before taking on the running of The Old Courthouse Gallery in Ambleside.

She worked in the family business for 12 years before leaving to start a family and later, with the help of her husband Chris – a successful designer and businessman – and her daughter Wren, Mrs Shramli developed plans for opening her own lifestyle shop where her emphasis was on design and offering ‘feel-good’ products.
