More staff to cope with demand at Penrith gym

A Penrith gym is to employ extra staff because it has grown so popular there’s now a waiting list to join.

Elite Fitness was opened on Gilwilly Road by Steven and Emma Sharkey about a year ago.

And they are delighted with the success they have had so far.

Mr Sharkey said: “It is great to see our business take off.”

Such has been their success that they are already planning an expansion that will let its membership numbers swell by a further 350.

He added: “We are planning expansion works within the building and these are forecast to be complete by the end of the summer.

“They will create more than six new positions of employment within Elite Fitness.

“We aim to launch our nutrition shop online.”
