Carlisle-based communications firm Liquid Design has been taken over by a local photographic and video production company.
Carlisle-based communications firm Liquid Design has been taken over by a local photographic and video production company.
Pete Crouch, owner of Pink Tulip Productions, takes over the reins from Will Morgan, who is stepping down after two years in charge to pursue a new challenge.
The businesses will continue to operate separately, but photography and commercial video as well as other complementary services will now be incorporated as part of Liquid Design’s in-house portfolio.
Pink Tulip and Liquid Design have worked together on several major projects in the past.
Mr Crouch co-founded Pink Tulip in Carlisle with his wife Louise in 2006, and prior to that spent 12 years in the corporate IT world.
Speaking about the acquisition, he said: “Will has been instrumental in turning Liquid Design into one of the premier design and marketing agencies in the North West, and his decision to move on leaves big shoes to fill.
“However we have always had a close working relationship, and I am delighted to have been presented with the opportunity to continue his good work and take the company forward.
“It will be a seamless transition, and I will be keeping on all of the current team at Liquid Design. And because we will now be able to offer video and photography in-house, the range of services Liquid Design can now offer our new and existing clients is even stronger.”
Liquid Design began seven years ago as a small graphic design agency run by Mr Morgan’s partner and current creative director Maxine Allen, who will remain with the company heading up the design team.
Mr Morgan became managing director in 2010 and has overseen major expansion of the company, and he is now believed to be moving on to a regional management position for a car company.
He will not retain any stake or involvement in liquid design, which has over 150 clients in Cumbria, the North-East, and South-West Scotland.
Mr Morgan added: “Liquid Design has been a big part of my life for the last few years and I am hugely proud to have played a part in its on-going success.
“It will be a huge wrench to leave the fantastic team here, but the time has come to look for new challenges – which is why I am delighted that Pete is taking over and confident that he will not only consolidate the firm’s position as Carlisle’s leading design and marketing agency but take it to the next level in the future.”
