The Institute of Directors (IoD) North West has named Neil McNicholas as the new Chair for the Cumbria branch.

Neil is currently the Managing Director of Direct Rail Services, having started the company in 1995. DRS is a lynch pin supplier of transport and associated services to the nuclear industry as well as retail and passenger sectors.

The IoD in Cumbria has approximately 150 members and represents a large geographical area. Continuously recruiting new members, the Cumbria branch of the IoD regularly holds events across the county, working hard to represent and support the local business community.

Tony Attard, Chairman of the Institute of Directors North West said; “Neil has been a member of the IoD for 12 years and has been intimately involved in the development of businesses within the Cumbrian area for over 25 years. We welcome him as chairman for Cumbria and look forward to his contribution in growing and supporting business in the area.”

Neil McNicholas added; “I am delighted to be elected Chairman and to begin work with the IoD. I am keen to speak to local businesses about the issues that really concern them and am looking forward, with my committee, to compiling an active and diverse programme of events in the upcoming year, helping local businesses thrive.”
