One of the UK's leading economists will brief Cumbrian firms on trends in the UK economy at an event this week.

One of the UK's leading economists will brief Cumbrian firms on trends in the UK economy at an event this week.

The Institute of Directors will be hosting an event at Ambleside’s Brathay Hall on Friday (11 October) where the its chief economist Graeme Leach will speak on the future of the UK economy.

A spokesman for the IoD northwest said: "2014 is a pivotal year for regional business, and the decisions made in the next few months will be the ones that shape the next few decades. This address will offer a comprehensive picture of the implications for northern businesses that are making export, recruitment and expansion decisions."

The event will take place between 8:00 - 9:45am and includes time for a Q&A with Graeme, as well as networking over breakfast,
