A Lancashire-based law firm has expanded into Cumbria with the opening of a new Kendal office.

Harrison Drury already employs over 30 staff in offices in Preston and Garstang and will now operate from offices at Mintsfeet Place, on Mintsfeet Road North, in Kendal.

The office will be headed up by Naomi Fell, who joined Harrison Drury in 2012 from Cumbria-based law firm Hayton Winkley.

Mrs Fell has been advising businesses in the Cumbria region since 1986 and says local businesses will benefit from a range of different services, in particular defending businesses against prosecutions by regulatory bodies, and its unique HD Anytime service, which gives businesses its own legal department for a fixed price.

She said: “Businesses that fall foul of rules concerning regulatory bodies, for example the Health and Safety Executive, often have to go outside the county to access specialist legal advice.

“This is an area that Harrison Drury has advised clients on in the North Lancashire and South Lakes area for many years and the new office will be a more convenient location for them.

“Our HD Anytime service will also be of interest to small to medium sized companies as it gives clients access to legal advice around the clock for a fixed monthly fee.

“Clients that have signed up to this service have praised us for challenging the traditional ‘on the clock’ structure and helping companies get their legal affairs in order at a fraction of the cost. It is a very popular concept.”

Some of the areas Harrison Drury specialises in include business disputes, commercial property, mergers and acquisitions and family law.

Mrs Fell added: “The location in Kendal is fantastic. I have been working in this region for 26 years and it is home to some terrific established and new businesses that all require good legal support. The area has weathered the economic storm very well and we hope to add new employees as we grow.”
