Is it morally wrong to pay cash for a cheaper job?

Have your say

Yes Brian, "people get a job done, people get work, those people spend their money" but they're breaking the law

They are, because of this, not paying for the state provided facilities (NHS, education, etc) which they consume.

It may seem unfair to the competition but does it actually harm the economy? People get a job done, people get work, those people spend their money...

Is it "morally wrong" to avoid paying tax on spending money that you were already taxed on earning? After all, you would be taxed (on interest earned) if you saved it.

We can't win. Add to this regime of being taxed on "luxuries" (that's what VAT was introduced for, right?) the fact that we're taxed on housing (Stamp duty, Council tax), fuel (electric, gas, petrol), beer, cigarettes (duty) and food (remember 20P on a hot pasty anyone?) it's morally depressing!

I'm sure if we didn't pay as much tax there would be more legitimate workers.

Perhaps the treasury could come clean about these "big business" sweetheart deals?
