Go-ahead for flats in Cockermouth brewery

Councillors have welcomed plans to give the go ahead for new flats at Cockermouth’s Jennings brewery.

The plans, for 16 flats above ground floor level, were agreed by planners this week.

Planning manager Kevin Kerrigan said it was a central location where they felt they should be encouraging people to live to “support the viability of the town."

Councillor Margaret Jackson described it as “a welcome application for Cockermouth.”
