NUCLEAR Decommissioning Services, a nuclear services business operating at Sellafield and other UK nuclear sites, has been acquired by Renew Holdings.
Renew is a listed an engineering services support business that already owns Shepley Engineers, based at Westlakes Science Park, Moor Row, and its subsidiaries PPS Electrical, West Cumberland Engineering and Mothersill Engineering.
Nuclear Decommissioning Services will also operate as a Shepley subsidiary.
Leeds-based Renew is paying £235,000 to acquire the business, which made a pre-tax profit of £105,000 on revenue of £188,000 in the year to January.
In a statement to the stock market, Renew said: “By acquiring the complementary skills of Nuclear Decommissioning Services, Shepley will be able to offer an expanded range of services at the nuclear sites where it operates.
“This acquisition enhances Shepley's ability to deliver on the recently awarded ten-year £500m Decommissioning Delivery Partnership framework for Sellafield Ltd.”
