Director of Cumbrian shipping firm steps down

A DIRECTOR of a Barrow shipping firm has stepped down.
Simon Harris, who has been a director of James Fisher for eight years, has stepped down from the board to pursue business opportunities outside the company.
Mr Harris was appointed managing director of James Fisher Defence in January 2005 before becoming chairman of that company in October 2009. He joined the board in August 2005.
Tim Harris, executive chairman of James Fisher and Sons plc said: “Simon has made a considerable contribution to James Fisher in building our defence team to become the world leader it is today. Simon leaves with our thanks and best wishes for the future.”
