Pudding providers are enjoying the sweet taste of success after being crowned with a gold award.

Sticky toffee pudding

A sticky toffee pudding made by Penrith-based County Puddings has been given a Great Taste 2012 logo.

Run by the Guild of Fine Food, entrants competing for a gold Great Taste award are judged by 350 of the nation’s most discerning food experts.

Country Puddings is one of the leading manufacturers of traditional homemade puddings in the UK.

Lynne Mallinson, managing director of Country Puddings, said: “It is fantastic we have won another Great Taste award for our range of puddings; and we are particularly proud that our sticky toffee pudding has been voted one of the best in the UK.

“We work hard to ensure our puddings are what our customers want and taste delicious. Our business has grown dramatically over the past 11 years and continues to flourish as people demand good quality, locally produced products.”

She added: “We have recently started exporting all over the world, but we are proud of our traditional values and roots as a Cumbrian food producer.”

Overall, 123 of the 8,807 food and drink products entered were given a coveted three-star gold award.
