Cumbria Tourism teams up with Aqua Pura

CUMBRIA Tourism has teamed up with leading Cumbrian water brand, Aqua Pura for a major campaign to promote holidays in the area to a huge UK-wide audience.

The partnership will see special offers, competitions and giveaways in the Lake District and Cumbria on around 5 million consumer packs of bottled water available from nationwide supermarkets including Tesco and Morrisons.

From the 7th December, consumers will have the opportunity to win a series of breaks in the Lake District and Cumbria as well as thousands of instant runner-up prizes of special offers at various attractions and activity providers throughout the county.

Prizes up for grabs include:

• 3 and 4 night luxury self catering breaks for up to 4 people plus £500 spending money

• 2 and 3 nights B&B stays at some of the Lake District’s top 4-star hotels plus £500 spending money

• 2 night family B&B break at a 5-star castle plus £500 spending money

• 3 night family breaks in a wigwam, camping pod or camping barn plus £500 spending money

Aqua Pura natural mineral water is sourced in the Eden Valley in North East Cumbria and has undergone a major relaunch to reflect its Cumbrian heritage with the new strap line ‘100% Pure Cumbrian’.

Joanna Watling, Marketing Director for Soft Drinks, said: “At Aqua Pura, we are proud of our Cumbrian roots and we wanted to give consumers the chance to visit the outstanding countryside in the Lake District.”

Up to 25 different tourism businesses across Cumbria have signed up to be part of the campaign, with most offering 2 for 1 entry to attractions or free entry for children, and there are more than 3,500 individual chances to win.

Angela Metcalfe, Head of Commercial Activity at Cumbria Tourism, said: "We are delighted to be working alongside Aqua Pura again in 2012. The partnership we put in place in 2011 was very successful and gave us an opportunity to shout about what the Lake District, Cumbria, has to offer in a new and innovative way.

She added: ‘’This year the promotion will run for a much longer period with over 5 million promotional bottles in circulation, giving even more Aqua Pura customers the chance to access discounts at some of the county's best loved attractions and also be in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes; including family weekend breaks in the Lake District.’’
