Cumbria Police search reservoir and Ormsgill area for missing Barrow man

POLICE have stepped up the search to find missing man Tony Bond.

They are focusing upon the area around Barrow cemetery, Ormsgill reservoir and unused commercial and residential properties in the lower Hawcoat area.

DCI Bob Qazi said: “We still believe that Tony is living somewhere in the Barrow area, possibly sleeping rough, and the searches are being made to establish his whereabouts and safety.

“We would again appeal to anybody who has seen Tony to contact the police and to also remind people to check their outbuildings for any signs he may have been there.”

Mr Bond, 40, is described as white, 5ft 10’ with mousey coloured hair and a rugged complexion.

Shortly before he was reported missing on November 9, he was seen in Abbotsmead Approach, Barrow, wearing a white polo top and blue jeans.

Police believe he was in the area of the roundabout in Schneider Road and Ainslie Street, Barrow, around 10.30pm and ask for anyone in the area at that time to cast their minds back to see if they remember if they saw him walking along the street.

Along with Mr Bond's family and friends, police have said they are growing increasingly worried for his wellbeing and are eager to receive any information which may help to confirm that he is safe.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Barrow police on 101.

Have your say

I hope Tony is ok, its concerning that Tony hasn't been located as yet, presumably his credit cards and telephone are being monitored. I hope there is a happy ending to this nightmare.
